Automated Meter Management (AMM) requires new testing strategies

In the past five years the quantity of installed electricity meters with AMM facilities is rapidly increasing.
More and more utilities need the additional features like
- direct load control
- programmable prepayment features
- remote disconnect/connect
- load limiting
and other specialties like power quality measurement and outage detection.

The testing of the meters is no longer limited to the verification of the accuracy. For the AMM meters the functional testing is an important topic.

ZERA supports the complete testing of the meter, including communication via powerline carrier (PLC, now very popular) or other media, signal quality analysis, and all features of AMM metering in an automated way.
Only for Italy more than 30Mio meters have been tested up to now on ZERA test systems.
